Zelda Madness
March 2010
Zelda Madness is a fundraising event – a video game marathon. They needed a website which was visually rich, and reusable for other videogames for future events.
I tackled this issue by creating, for every page, a background image that was a “photograph” of various locations in Hyrule – the fictional kingdom of the Zelda Universe. I crafted all of these images by hand using a combination of my own photos, and Creative Commons licensed images from Flickr.
My picks of the lot are the Temple of Time, Gerudo Desert, and Hyrule Castle!

Lithium Hosting
November 2009
I was approached by Lithium Hosting, who were looking to redesign their site to be cleaner, “friendlier”, and easier to use. In addition to redesigning the site, I rewrote the content to be more concise and easier to understand.
Key aspects considered when redesigning Lithium Hosting’s website (see old) were increasing the prominence of their plans and emphasizing their selling points of being a small, lean host that cares about their customers.

Annie’s Loft
August 2009
Annie’s Loft & Studio is a luxury bed and breakfast located in Waipara. They required the design and development of a website that would be ready by the time the B&B opened for business.
The end product is based on the Wordpress content management system, making updates easy. Also included in the final website was an online reservation system, making it easy for potential guests to check availability and pricing on certain dates – as well as book with secure credit card processing.

USSA
November 2008
For my end of year school project, I chose to design a fictional promotional campaign for a satirical book about the superpowers of our modern age. This involved the design of a book cover, posters and website, as well as page layout for the inside of the book.
The visual style was heavily influenced by Russian Constructivism; and ironic twists on American symbols were used as a subject matter – such as the Statue of Liberty holding a hammer!
Whitehead Plumbing & Gas
August 2008
Whitehead Plumbing & Gas is a Christchurch based plumbing company operated by Mark Whitehead.
The brief called for a website consistent with existing company stationery, and emphasized ties to the MPGD of NZ.
The resulting site is clean and very easy to navigate – something of utmost importance when a pipe in your bathroom bursts!
